1202 Honors American Government/Economics 1 year Grades 11, 12 1 credit

 

This is a more rigorous course appropriate for higher achieving students. It will include the study of governmental processes especially at the national level, with emphasis on the practical aspects of government such as voting, political parties/ideologies and elections. Students will spend a quarter focusing on the importance of the economy and personal finance including credit/loans, saving and planning for college and the stock market and investing. Students will learn the skills necessary for the individual to function as a productive citizen. Students may be required to purchase additional reading material. Required for graduation.
